The Shane Hamilton Band
Long before the moniker of the Shane Hamilton Band emerged, a musical journey began with three friends congregating through their shared love for music within the sanctum of their church. Shane Hamilton, the lead singer and rhythm guitarist, along with Tory Sweatman on guitar and Carl Benner on drums, orchestrated their harmonies in the most sacred of venues – their local church.
Rooted in their upbringing and nurtured in the rich musical soil of Denton County, these three friends found solace and inspiration in the trifecta of country, music, and gospel. United by their devotion to music, they embarked on a musical odyssey, gracing church stages and seizing any opportunity to showcase their talents at special events and gigs. Despite diverse backgrounds, when together, they emanated a harmonious sound, a seamless unity that defined their collective identity.
Over the years, their commitment to their craft fostered an evolution, refining their sound and skills as they fervently pursued recognition within the music scene, striving to etch their names onto the musical landscape.
The turning point arrived when Philip Thornton, a Bass Player from Denton, Texas, and Chuck Stark, a Lead Guitar player from Denton, Texas, joined forces with the trio. Their arrival heralded a transformative phase, marking the formation of the Shane Hamilton Band – a fusion of country and red dirt music poised to spearhead a new wave of talent within the genre. Beyond bandmates, these individuals are more akin to brothers united by their unyielding passion for music and entertainment.
Their ardor for music extends beyond mere performances; it’s a shared desire to translate their dreams into a resonating reality. Acknowledging the role of faith and the gifts bestowed upon them by a higher power, the band members remain humble and grounded, attributing their success to God’s benevolence.
Eager to spread their musical ardor, they relentlessly pursue gigs and shows, aiming to captivate audiences and share their love for music and entertainment. Whether gathering around a campfire for heartfelt conversations or serenading listeners with their soul-stirring melodies, the Shane Hamilton Band exemplifies the epitome of musical camaraderie and captivating performances.
Denton County, brace yourselves, for the Shane Hamilton Band is poised to deliver an experience unlike any other—a testament to passion, camaraderie, and an unwavering commitment to musical excellence.

The Derailers have been featured on the stages of The Grand Ole Opry, A Prairie Home Companion, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and the US President’s Inaugural Ball. The band performed at their friend Buck Owens’ 70th birthday party at Owens’ personal request. A Derailers song was played back to Earth from the first iPod taken into outer space by astronaut Dr. Stephen K. Robinson. They also appear as characters in two Stephen King stories.
The Derailers have toured many times across the United States, Europe, and Japan, but they are always happy to return home to Austin and their “natural habitat” the Broken Spoke.

The 40 Acre Mule
“It used to be called boogie-woogie. It used to be called rhythm & blues. Now, they call it rock & roll”
Chuck Berry’s words are at the very heart of Roots Rock & Roll 5-piece, THE 40 ACRE MULE! The self-described “Rhythm & Blues Outfit” are a powerhouse of vintage revival with a reputation for seamlessly blurring the lines between country, soul and rock audiences with songwriting that borders between blues drenched heartbreak and an old school riot in the streets!
Influenced by the pillars of Rhythm & Blues like Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Bo Diddley and Ray Charles and inspired by recent artists such as J.D. McPherson, Nathaniel Rateliff and Gary Clark Jr., They quickly built their own unique sound by blending vintage Rock & Roll, Rhythm & Blues, Soul and just a touch of Country. It was a sound that soon caught on with The James Hunter Six, The Reverend Horton Heat, Eleven Hundred Springs, Alejandro Escovedo, Rosie Flores and more.
Since forming in Dallas, Texas in 2015, THE 40 ACRE MULE has built a loyal following the old-fashioned way…they earned it! Playing countless bars and packed clubs, they watched crowds grow mainly by word of mouth. Playing to diverse crowds has made their fanbase explode. “We went from 10 or 15 friends in a dive bar on a Tuesday to playing full-on festivals without even having an album out yet. That says something. I think we’re making music that people from all walks of life…country fans, soul fans, rockabilly fans…find comfortable and familiar. It’s because all those genres can trace their roots to Rhythm & Blues, the very backbone of Rock & Roll “, says founder J. Isaiah Evans
After years of putting in the work and following a critically acclaimed debut album, GOODNIGHT & GOOD LUCK (State Fair Records, 2019), THE 40 ACRE MULE have appeared as Official Showcasing Artist at SXSW as well as AmericanFest in Nashville. Having toured with Charlie Crockett, Old 97s and The Delta Bombers, THE ACRE MULE continues to hit the road, deliver their brand of Third Coast Rock & Roll coast to coast!

The Suffers
The Rifters
The Rifters formed in 2002 in the fertile and creative music scene of Taos, New Mexico when members of two popular bands already active in the area, Jim Bradley and Don Richmond of Hired Hands, and Rod Taylor of the Rounders, who had all known one another for years playing in the acoustic dance-oriented Americana music scene of northern New Mexico, decided to join forces to form The Rifters.
Putting out more music than it seems should be right for three guys on stage, the Rifters employ a wide range of acoustic and electric instruments, combined with soaring three-part harmonies, to provide a mesmerizing variety of music from driving blue-grama-grass to ethereal desert beauty.
The years of playing to the dance crowds in their northern New Mexico homeland has given their music a toe-tapping rhythm that is engaging and undeniable. With a pedigree of bands like Hired Hands, the Rounders, and South by Southwest among them, the Rifters are truly a musical voice of their region of high desert vistas and mountain majesty.

Taylor Ochs
Taylor Ochs is a Fort Worth based singer songwriter playing soul infused Americana music.
Growing up in West Texas, Taylor developed a healthy appreciation for classic rock, funk, blues, and country music that was daily being served up by the bands that his father played in.
An injury which ended Taylor’s final season of college track and field caused him to turn toward creating and playing music, though you’ll soon be convinced he was destined for it since before birth. The incubation of these experiences has culminated into a sound that gently reclines on the cushion of deep grooves, tasty guitar playing, soulful melodies and a variety of expressive lyrics.

She has also been Mermaid Queen, a SMART Award for artistic excellence recipient, and received an induction into the Women’s Hall of Fame in San Marcos, Texas. Her master recordings and archives are housed at the esteemed Wittliff Collections at Texas State University. Embodying Texas’ independent spirit, this classically trained vocalist and virtuoso guitar, mandolin, and harmonica player has done it entirely on her own, releasing every album since her 1996 debut on her Wilory Records label — often using a fan-financing model she developed years before crowdfunding arrived.
Few people are as important to the development of Texas music over the last 30 years as Lloyd Maines. As a Grammy award-winning producer and musician, the Lubbock-born Maines has played an instrumental role in the creation of some of the Lone Star State’s most famous and beloved albums. Maines began his recording and producing career in 1974. The Beerman
A carpenter by trade, music has always been a form of release and celebration for Brian. Usually every performance has been preceded by a forty-hour work week and singing from a working man¹s perspective fits his core belief that country music should be a true reflection of common people and their simple lives. In 1998, Brian Houser released his first CD, the critically acclaimed “Never Look Back.” It was produced at the demand of his loyal followers in his hometown of Denton, Texas and documents his emotions of a failed 10- year marriage. The attention garnished by this work led to performances with Jerry Jeff Walker, Robert Keen and, most notably Brian’s musical hero, Willie Nelson.

Two Tons of Steel
Before there was Americana, before there was Texas Country, Two Tons of Steel front man Kevin Geil and his original band, “Dead Crickets,” rocked a sound that blended the best of musical worlds and pushed the envelope of “Texas” sound with a signature brand of country meets punk.
The San Antonio-based group packed the small bars and local hangouts and quickly became the Alamo City’s most-loved band, earning them a spot on the cover of Billboard Magazine in 1996. It was the beginning of a twenty-year journey for Geil and the 4-piece ensemble.
Releasing “Two Tons Of Steel” in 1994 and “Crazy For My Baby” in 1995 on Blue Fire Records, a sponsorship deal with Lone Star Beer quickly followed. Dead Crickets, renamed Two Tons of Steel in 1996, began traveling outside of Texas, including stops at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tenn., the National Theater in Havana, Cuba, and European tours, to greet fans who had embraced their Texas-born sound. In 1996 they released “Oh No!” on their independent label, “Big Bellied Records.” They followed up the passion project with a live recording at the legendary Gruene Hall in Gruene, Texas, taped during a Two Ton Tuesday Show in 1998.
2018 marks the band’s 23rd year of “Two Ton Tuesday Live from Gruene Hall.” The summerlong event has drawn over 230,000 fans since it began its annual run in 1995. The popular concert series was captured in “Two Ton Tuesday Live,” a DVD-CD combo released on Palo Duro Records in 2006. Also that year, the band’s first national release, “Vegas,” produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Lloyd Maines on the Palo Duro label, took them to No. 7 on the Americana Music Charts and was one of the top 20 releases of 2006.
Two Tons released “Not That Lucky” in 2009. The album peaked at No. 4 on the Americana Music Charts and made Two Tons of Steel a band to watch in 2013. Along the way, the band has collected a number of awards. To date, Two Tons has cleaned up at home, winning “Band of the Year” on 12 separate occasions and “Album of the Year” for its self-titled debut.
