Music by Mckenzie

Mckenzie is the essence of Americana, a little bit of country, a little bit of folk and a whole lot of rock and roll.  Her musical influences range from Tanya Tucker, The Chicks, Bonnie Raitt, Alanis Morrissette and bands like, Heart, Incubus and Journey.  Mckenzie grew up singing in the church choir and later in the High School choir.

Her first instrument was the flute and she later picked up guitar at the urging of her Dad who was her musical mentor. Mckenzie started out in a rock and roll band called “Wings of Fire”, then with a duet called “Hourglass” which included a female fiddle player and lots of country music.

She continued adding her style of singing to classic bands like “Four of Kind Band” and recently, a Dallas based band “The Lake Rats”.  With her versatile musical style Mckenzie is able to please the most diverse audiences and is focusing on her solo performances which include a mixture of cover songs  and her originals.

She attended a performing arts high school where her passion for music continued to grow while performing all over the U.S. with the Singing Girls of Texas. Madison made her way as a solo artist singing at opry’s as a child, to the Lincoln center in New York, as well as singing in various Texas country bands all around Texas and surrounding states.

Madison’s passion for music expanded into songwriting, and she is now singing and writing her own music. Madison has had many influences starting with Dolly Parton and Patsy Cline to Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert.

She has stuck with her home grown roots and has continued to keep that classic country sound. Her sweet and upbeat personality along with her angelic vocals will blow you away when watching her perform.

Mark Chesnutt

Mark Chesnutt is one of Country’s true musical treasures. Critics have hailed him as a classic Country singer of the first order and some of Country music’s most elite entertainers, from George Jones to George Strait, echo the sentiment.  Mark Chesnutt’s stature is easily gauged. He has 14 No. 1 hits, 23 top ten singles, four platinum albums and five gold records to his credit; he maintains a front-and-center presence with a hefty tour schedule year after year.

Country music critics and fans alike need look no further when it comes to Country music basics. If you ask Chesnutt, he’ll tell you, “It’s the music and the fans that have kept me around this long.” In a creative forum that sometimes confuses style with substance, Mark Chesnutt possesses both.

Remaining true to himself as a traditional country artist, while keeping the pace with the ever-changing country recording landscape, Mark Chesnutt has a knack for picking great songs, delivering them with world-class style and a heart-felt emotion that’s lived-in. With a trademarked voice, Chesnutt has set the bar for his generation and those that follow in his footsteps shaping the music of today’s country music newcomers and the new country music format.

He has 6 studio albums and three live projects including a full-length DVD.  In addition to solo and duo shows, Max travels with a four-piece band and does 150+ shows annually.  Of recent, his wife Heather, a very accomplished fiddle player and songwriter herself, has been playing with Max and his band.

Five years after his previous record, 2010’s relaxed honky-tonking opus Home to You, Stalling felt compelled to mold a full-length record. One-off singles are great, he admits, but there is such artistic strength in a cohesive body of work.

Myke Miller

“I’m lucky to have had the opportunity to build a career by doing what I love. From a young age, I’ve been focused and goal-driven. When I had a vision for my professional future, I decided to make it happen. With experience in the academic setting and professional setting, I’ve now set up shop in San Francisco.

I’m thrilled to say that I’ve learned from so many trained professionals in my field, but I know that I still have so much to learn from others in the industry. I’m a hard worker and a team player, and excited to see what projects could benefit from my unique skill set. I’d love to chat with you about how we might work together in the future.

I started singing at an early age in church and the school choir. On my 14th Xmas, I received my first guitar, and it was like Magic. Class of 97 and navy Corpsman until 2001, I put my music on hold to serve my country.”

Madelyn Hicks

“Growing up in an artistic family, I was fortunate to have a childhood full of musical and theatrical exploration. As a teen, I discovered my passion for performance and writing and ultimately chose to pursue both at Texas Christian University. This May, I’ll graduate from TCU with a double degree in Theatre and Strategic Communication.

These two studies have enabled me to tell stories – something I am deeply passionate about. Whether I’m functioning as a storyteller in a content copywriting position or a role on stage, I find solace in the way stories foster empathy and connect us all together. Recently, I’ve taken up creating my own. My one-act play, Dad’s Gone to War, was produced in January as a staged reading at TCU.

Alongside my theatrical pursuits, I am also an experienced live musician. In my spare time, I sing with a friend on the guitar at local bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and even weddings and corporate events. I also enjoy playing the piano and leading worship at my local church. Check out my music page for more information.”

Mike Randall & The High Road

Mike Randall is a country music singer based in North Texas with deep roots in Gospel music. At an early age Mike began traveling with his family singing gospel music and baptist hymns at every little church within driving distance.

With roots from Black Mountain North Carolina all the way to the hills of Arkansas and the rich musical town of Dallas, TX, music has always been the foundation of what makes Mike Randall “tick”. In 1998, Mike Randall played his first paid live music gig in Deep Ellum, Tx…and he was hooked.

It was then the real journey began touring across the state of Texas and eventually nationwide and worldwide with bands, as an individual and a sensational artist.

Blending soul, rock and country sounds, Mike Randall delivers a rich musical sound in every project. In December of 2016 Mike Randall officially launched his solo career as a Texas Country Music singer/songwriter and is currently booking live shows across Texas & the Southern U.S.

Maylee Thomas Band

From her early days as a gospel singer, to her legendary status as a Texas diva, Maylee transcends genre, mixing gospel-based blues with a soul driven rock, touches of pop, with the very faintest caresses of country from time to time… and audiences respond. Maylee is the soul of Texas and a must see act.

Mariachi Rosas Divinas

Mariachi Rosas Divinas seems an appropriate name for this divine all female group. Rosas Divinas have broken the mold when it comes to the beloved style of mariachi music. As the first and only all female mariachi in the DFW Metroplex and one of few in the Country, being different is not all that difficult. Lipstick smudges brass mouthpieces, long fingernails work perfectly for strumming guitars and glossy dark hair flows down the back of brightly coordinated outfits. Breaking away from traditional stereotypes, these vivacious women bring life back into a traditional music which began in the small pueblos of 19-century Mexico.

Desiring to perform the mariachi music she played in her hometown of Taos, New Mexico, Director Tabitha Sanchez Barrientos, sought out to find a team of like-minded musicians. “Playing with passion is the most important element when playing mariachi music,” she says ”But a commitment to musical precision is what we strive to be known and respected for.”

Bringing the heart-felt style of mariachi music with their precise musical execution is what sets these young women apart in a male dominated genre. “It’s musical integrity along with their rich, beautiful sound that makes them like no other mariachi group you’ve heard before,” says Grammy winner and Producer, Pete Orta. “These girls take the time to make everything they do special.” All who see them perform agree that their enthusiasm and musical creativity breaths life into familiar trios, rancheras and traditional boleros.

“Nothing about this group is typical,” says Louis Constancio, founder of Find A Mariachi. “They are different from anything mainstream but they are also different in the world of mariachi and it’s because each member brings a special element to the group.”

Lead violinist, Karen Gerardo, graduate of Booker T Washington, former member of the Dallas Young Strings and current Principal Violinist with Irving Symphony Orchestra says, “I heard the group and immediately saw the potential for greatness. Here I am 11 years later with a resume I could have only dreamed of at this stage in my career. The opportunities have been absolutely priceless.” From being the first mariachi to ever play in the Gran Caymen Islands to sharing the stage with legends such as Fito Olivares, Graciela Beltran and Ozomatli, Rosas Divinas have been captivating audiences since their very first performance in 2005.

Opportunities such as these and many others have opened doors they never expected. Month long performances at the State Fair of Texas, a recent week long performances at the WinStar Casino Resort in Oklahoma Texas followed by another week long Mariachi Tour in Chicago Illinois, and still, no one seems to resent the long hours rehearsing and performing. “You work hard to be the group you want to be and when the opportunities come you’ll be ready.” Says Director, Tabitha. Making sacrifices for the music they love is nothing new for these Divine Roses.

Lead Guitar Alexia Quintero played her first gig with the group in 2011 at The House of Blues in Dallas, “I was only supposed to help with a few gigs but here I am 6 years later!” She says. “I continued to perform even while going to Law School and people would worry saying I needed a break. I would explain that performing and making music was part of my break! Yes, it is a lot of work but we always have so much fun together and that’s rejuvenating.”

“That’s the thing about this group,” says Tabitha, “We work hard but we also care deeply for one another, we hang out and talk for hours, sometimes all you hear is laughing. We are like family and you can feel it in our music.” They are proud to be DFW’s first and only all female Mariachi.
