Sounds of Lewisville: Purple Day – Prince Tribute with Sunny Disposition

Sounds of Lewisville started in 1991 as a free summertime family entertainment option at the Vista Ridge Amphitheater. The series eventually moved to Old Town Lewisville, where it continues today.

Concerts take place Tuesdays in May and June, 7-9:30 p.m., concluding with the special Red White & Lewisville fireworks event on Wednesday, July 1. There will be NO CONCERT on Tuesday, June 30. Weekly concerts include performances by two bands, food trucks, Play Lewisville on Wheels activities, bar and vendors. Admission is free, and tickets are not required. Due to lawn seating, blankets and chairs are encouraged.

Curated by RC & The Gritz, an eclectic super-group known by many as Erykah Badu’s band, enjoy a night of Prince music, from deep cuts to massive hits. Founded by Band Leader RC Williams in 2004, RC & The Gritz is made up of a diverse mix of musicians from across Texas and whose repertoire includes, R&B, Hip-Hop, and Soul Music.

Sunny Disposition is an indie Reggae Pop Punk Power trio from Dallas.  They recently released their debt EP.

Heartbreaker is a Dalla-based tribute to Pat Benatar. They are passionate about recreating the essence of Pat Benatar’s iconic vocals and mesmerizing musicianship of the band. The band’s goal is to transcend time and space to bring you back to the very moments that matter most in life – moments created only through the power and magic of music. Join Heartbreaker on their journey of authentically covering the great Pat Benatar, Neil Giraldo and their legendary band of musicians.

Alexis Stone is a DFW-based artist whose passion for music shines through her powerful vocals and heartfelt songwriting. Alexis brings her unique blend of intimate folk guitar, authentic country storytelling, and catchy pop melodies to local stages, connecting to audiences through relatable stories. When she’s not performing, Alexis is a fulltime elementary music teacher. Alexis Stone’s music is a testament to the power of genuine storytelling and her deep-seated love for music.

Sounds of Lewisville: Concert Series

The popular “Sounds of Lewisville presented by Mosquito Joe” concert series, a free family favorite since 1991, returns this year with nine shows featuring a wide range of musical genres at Wayne Ferguson Plaza in the heart of historic Old Town Lewisville.

Concerts start at 7 p.m. every Tuesday night in May and June. Opening acts will perform 7-7:45 p.m.; headliners will perform 8-9:30 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs for their comfort. Well-behaved pets on a leash are allowed at the shows. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The award-winning Wayne Ferguson Plaza is a 1.5-acre urban park that takes on a contemporary sweeping gesture using water to link east to west and unites Lewisville City Hall and Lewisville Grand Theater. It features an elevated stage, a multi-level seating area, an interactive splash pad, and a garden filled with swathes of native grasses and wildflowers.

There will be a drone show and fireworks at Red White & Lewisville during the July 1 concert.
