Texas Tunes: An Evening with Sue Foley at Lewisville Grand Theater

Save the date! The Canadian blues ingenue turned Texas axe slinger brings over 35 years of professional talent to the Lewisville Grand Theater stage!

GRAMMY® nominee, Sue Foley delivers her own brand of high energy, guitar driven Texas blues along with her band. Foley’s seasoned rhythm section responds to her every move as she sways, rocks, and digs in deep with equal parts ease and intensity.

Her solo acoustic album One Guitar Woman was recently nominated for the Best Traditional Blues Album Grammy®. In May 2024, Foley was awarded the Blues Music Award for Traditional Blues Female Artist (Koko Taylor Award) in Memphis – an award she also won consecutively in 2023, 2022 and 2020. She was also honored with Guitarist of the Year and Blues Act of the Year at the 2023 Austin Music Awards, and the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Maple Blues Awards. Her album, Pinky’s Blues, took home Best Traditional Blues Album at the 2022 Blues Music Awards.

Texas Tunes: Bruce Robison

In regard to the Lone Star State’s finest tunesmiths, Bruce Robison lands at the top of the heap. His songwriting turned the heads of some of the industry’s biggest artists and took them to the top of the charts (The Chicks’ No. 1 version of “Travelin’ Soldier,” George Strait’s recording of “Wrapped” and the beautiful Tim McGraw / Faith Hill rendition of “Angry All The Time,” to name a few). While those achievements might be considered the pinnacle of a songwriting career to some, Robison has never been one to rest on his laurels. He is always creating.

Black Box Songwriter Series: Carrie Rodriguez

Carrie Rodriguez performs an intimate Black Box Songwriter Series concert on Sunday, June 23.

The Black Box Songwriter Series features singer-songwriters in an intimate, listening-room setting. Since its inception in 2015, the series has attracted a variety of celebrated songwriters, such as Gretchen Peters (“Independence Day”), Susan Gibson (“Wide Open Spaces”), Walt Wilkins (“Trains I Missed”), and numerous award-winning troubadours. Both newcomers and veteran songwriters have played the series and given fans a chance to hear incredible songs as well as the stories behind them.

This series is produced by the City of Lewisville. Tickets to this concert are $20 for general admission seating. Sales tax and ticket fees are included in the ticket price.
