Cody Canada & The Departed is a three-piece Americana roots-rock band based in New Braunfels, Texas. The band is comprised of frontman Cody Canada, bassist Jeremy Plato, and drummer Eric Hansen.
Canada and Plato–bandmates since the inception and through the dissolution of former rock band Cross Canadian Ragweed–join forces with drummer Hansen to round out The Departed. The result is poignant, thoughtfully crafted songs delivered with bold guitars, boomy bass lines and plenty of muscle.
The new iteration of The Departed offers concert-goers a well-rounded sonic experience: the Red Dirt ghosts from Canada’s upbringing; the re-emergence of favored Cross Canadian Ragweed tunes; plus a revival of classic country gold from Plato-led vocals.
Carrie Rodriguez, a composer, violinist, and singer from Austin, Texas, finds beauty in the cross-pollination of diverse traditions. As a singer-songwriter she has released 5 solo studio albums, 3 duet albums with legendary Chip Taylor (author of “Wild Thing and “Angel of the Morning”), and 2 live albums. Her last full-length solo recording, the bilingual Lola, was heralded as “the perfect bicultural album,” and was included in NPR’s best albums of 2016 as well Rolling Stone’s Best Country albums of the year.
Carrie has performed on stages across North America and Europe, as well as on programs such as PBS’ Austin City Limits, The Tonight Show, and NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. In 2017, Carrie founded a highly acclaimed ongoing concert series that resides at the historic Stateside at the Paramount Theatre in Austin, Texas called Laboratorio which both celebrates and explores Latinx culture and its contribution to the American experiment.
Her most recent work has been as a composer/lyricist for an original musical, ¡Americano!, chronicling the true story of an inspiring DREAMer named Tony Valdovinos, which enjoyed a successful 6 week run off-Broadway at New York City’s New World Stages in June of ’22, and also earned Rodriguez a nomination for a ’22 Drama Desk award for Outstanding Music.
Being born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but calling Jennings, Louisiana home, he was surrounded by Rhythm & Blues and Soul music music as far back as he can remember. His grandparents introduced him to the sounds of the greats: Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Willie Dixon, Howlin’ Wolf, the ‘Kings’ (BB, Freddy, & Albert), etc. Since the day he got my first pawn shop guitar, music made sense, but he never saw himswlf making a living at it.
Growing up, he played that guitar almost every day. It was his release and his favorite thing to do. After high school, he went to college at Baylor University, but was consumed with school and sports (baseball) so he lost touch with playing although he spent every spare dime on used cassettes or CDs. Robert Cray, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Buddy Guy, Albert Collins, Michael Jackson, Stevie Ray Vaughn…the list is endless.
After college, he picked up his guitar again and became completely consumed with jazz. He went back to my acoustic roots, which led him to an amazing experience in Las Vegas playing on ’The Strip’ for a couple of years. It was something that he enjoyed. Las Vegas taught him a lot, but wasn’t for him in the long run. He’s based in Dallas, Tx now!

Champagne Yacht Club is a tribute to yacht rock based in Dallas, Texas. The band is comprised of Haskell Morrison (Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards), Kenn Westman (Bass, Vocals), Gary Leake (Percussion), Rob Eads (Keyboards, Vocal), Ken Felarca (Guitar), Lori Carlyle (Vocals), Devon Gibson (Vocals), Landon Torbett (Saxophone) and Troy Bacon (Vocals). Each is a seasoned professional with dozens of band credits over several decades.
The band set out to recreate studio-quality versions of the songs they grew up with using zero tracks. They have 5 singers of all ranges to perform the harmonies associated with the era. Their setlist includes music from the early to mid-’70s to the early ’80s stylized as ‘Yacht Rock’…with a few AM classics and disco tracks sprinkled in. You’ll hear smooth songs from the Doobie Brothers, Hall, and Oates, Steely Dan, TOTO, Ambrosia, Linda Ronstadt, Boz Scaggs, Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Bee Gees, ABBA, and more.
A Nashville-based singer/songwriter with a gift for storytelling, Caroline Spence’s thoughtful musings on human nature helped establish her in the national folk and Americana scene of the mid-2010s. Earning critical accolades and glowing respect from within the Music City songwriting community for her 2017 LP, Spades & Roses, she signed with the Rounder label and made her label debut with 2019’s Mint Condition.
A native of Charlottesville, Virginia, Spence emerged in 2013 with You Know the Feeling, a six-song EP of winsome, world-weary Americana and folk songcraft. That same year, she won American Songwriter’s Lyric Contest and began establishing herself on the national festival and folk club circuit, picking up another win at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2014 in advance of her acclaimed 2015 debut album, Somehow. Basing herself in Nashville, Spence earned a reputation for honest, introspective songwriting that transcended the lines of folk, country, and roots music, drawing comparisons to artists like Patty Griffin and Emmylou Harris. She returned in 2017 with Spades & Roses, her haunting follow-up album, after which she signed a contract with the well-established Rounder Records label. 2019’s Mint Condition was her first outing for the label and featured a guest appearance from Emmylou Harris herself.
Courtney Patton is a storyteller. She’s also a mother, a wife, a producer, a singer, a songwriter, a tour-van driver, and a musician- as well as a world traveler when she’s out on tour throughout the continental U.S., Canada, and Europe. But to anyone lucky enough to be sitting in the audience while listening to her expansive Texas twang belt out her version of deep and soulful country music, she’s a storyteller. In a musical era in which clichés and bravado are mistaken for bold noteworthiness, there is something far braver in peeling back highly personal and emotional open-book songs and delivering them with sensitivity and sentiment. Patton does just that.
Following her previous solo albums, Triggering a Flood (2013) and So This Is Life (2015), and her acoustic collaborative project with her husband and fellow Texas troubadour Jason Eady, Something Together, (2017), Patton has drawn on true life day-to-day autobiographical life experiences and released her third album, What It’s Like To Fly Alone, in 2018.

A Costa Rican musician and yoga teacher blending his passions together to create soulful Latin music with guitar, vocals, percussion and a loop station.
Carlos is from San Jose, Costa Rica. Drawn to music at a young age, he began studying various instruments during his childhood including organ (Bansbach Music School), piano, & guitar (Instituto Superior de Guitarra).
He left San Jose in 2008 to direct an art teaching program in the Caribbean of Costa Rica. Escuela de Artes de Puerto Viejo was a great success, with 125 students winning the province representation twice at the National Student Art Festival. At the same time, Carlos was a guitarist of the late artist Michael Livingston’s reggae band, opening shows for artists like Julian Marley & Collie Buddz.
After teaching for four years, he decided to focus on his solo music career, playing in venues and hotels all around Costa Rica and Panama (Bocas del Toro).
Having played for various audiences his entire life, Carlos is seasoned in performing different styles of music from reggae in the bars of San Jose to bossa nova at Nayara Hotel (ranked second best spa hotel in the world), making his unique repertoire wide enough to satisfy any venue’s identity.
Carlos is currently living & playing music in Fort Worth, Texas. With a burning desire to grow & evolve as a musician, he intends to expand his horizons by playing in other cities throughout the country.
