About the Artist:
Wesley Hanna is a Texas country singer-songwriter living in Fort Worth, TX. He is also an engineer in the oil and gas industry. He picked up a guitar on his 17th birthday and played religiously every day before leaving his hometown of Magnolia, TX for Texas A&M University.
The Wesley Hanna Band was formed by a group of fellow Aggies in late 2005. It evolved into a five-piece Texas country/rock group. After a few years of performing, the band headed to the Zone Recording Studio in Dripping Springs, TX, to record the album “Born to Honky Tonk” in 2007. Shortly after the album was completed, the band dispersed in 2009 after graduation. It was finally released in 2014 after Wes began playing occasional acoustic shows around the Midland-Odessa area.
Following a move to the Fort Worth area and the return of live music post-lockdown era, Wesley decided the time was right to begin performing again. 2021 marked a resurgence in his music career. In June, the track “Born to Honky Tonk” made its way into Ben Ryan’s Local Music Showdown Hall of Fame on 95.9 The Ranch. Wes was joined by former bandmates Jonathan and bass player Mitch Curtis for an on-air interview by Ben prior to his departure from the famed radio station. Since then, Wes has played several acoustic shows in the DFW area and has several more on the books. Plans for 2022 also include recording his first solo LP and second album, to be titled “Brand New Love Potion.” Balancing family, an engineering career, and music has been an exciting adventure.
