A JUNETEENTH CELEBRATION CONCERT AT WAYNE FERGUSON PLAZA

A Juneteenth Celebration concert was added to the last year’s Sounds of Lewisville line-up, a recommendation of the Mayor’s Commission – Listen Learn Lead. The name reflects the need for city officials to listen to under-represented communities and the need for those residents to be heard. It also mirrors the leadership model of George Washington that people should first listen and learn before they try to lead. The committee presented 30 recommendations to City Council in 2020 that the City has been actively working to implement.

Schedule:

  • 6:00 p.m. – Don Diego Band
  • 7:15 p.m. – Fingerprints
  • 8:45 p.m. – Joyce Spencer

About the Artists:

There’s only one man who can cover Chris Stapleton’s “Tennessee Whisky,” roll right into Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” just before playing his original charting recording “Ago’s Jukejoint.” He is surely known for keeping the crowd moving all night by playing versatile and relevant music.

Don Diego has been traveling the world for the last thirty years serenading fans everywhere from corporate events to festivals. Some of the artists he has shared the stage with are Vanilla Ice, Johnny Taylor, and Kenny G. National recording artists Kirk Whalam and Gerald Albright have been featured on Don’s projects.

This Texas Southern University alumni has accomplished the unheard of, by performing at Vinetti’s, formerly Stonetrail, for the last 18 years each and every Friday and Saturday night to a standing-room-only crowd.

Don Diego is very appreciative of his diverse supporters and is the one musician who enjoys delivering mind-blowing, quality music to his audiences.
